Zanaco FC Signs Malawian Striker Chawanangwa Kaonga

Lusaka, Zambia – Zanaco Football Club has announced the signing of talented Malawian striker, Chawanangwa Kaonga. The forward has joined the Zambian club on a two-year deal from Silver Strikers of Lilongwe, Malawi.

The transfer fee for Kaonga was reportedly $25,000 (approximately K25 million), which has already been exchanged between the two clubs.

Silver Strikers is a well-established club in the TNM Super League, with a history of success including eight league titles, one National Championship, three FAM Cups, and three Top 8 Cups.

Kaonga is a proven scorer, having recorded 12 goals in the TNM Super League last season. Despite being five goals behind the Golden Boot award winner Babatunde Adepoju, Kaonga has a strong track record, having played for South African National First Division side TS Sporting and Mozambican club Costa do Sol, where he helped the team win the league title with 10 goals to his name.

Previously, Kaonga was linked to a move to Kaizer Chiefs in the PSL, however, the deal did not come to fruition. Nevertheless, Kaonga is set to bring his talent and experience to Zanaco FC as they aim for success in the upcoming seasons.
