Russia to modernize Zimbabwe army

Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa is reportedly planning to enlist Russia’s help to modernize the country’s defence forces. Citing Russian news agency RIA, Reuters reports that Mnangagwa said on Tuesday he would like to modernize his army and considers the Russian Federation as a potential partner in the campaign.

The Zimbabwean President was in Russia when violent protests broke out in Zimbabwe over the recent fuel price hike that has seen Petrol being sold at $3.31 per liter.
