Petroleum Importers Limited (PIL) has donated items worth K5 million to Dedza District Hospital. The items included emergency equipment such as nebulisers, vacuum extractors, Pulse oxi-meter and delivery beds. PIL General Manager Enwell Kadango said the initiative was part of the company’s K50 million corporate social responsibility which is expected to reach more health and education centers.
Kadango said that since government has several responsibilities and it is limited to satisfy the needs of the two crucial sectors of education and health, there is need for private sector support.
“Apart from paying back to the communities we are serving we have a duty to complement governments efforts in uplifting the lives of people. We are assisting various hospitals in the country and this is our third hospital to visit. We have been to Chikwawa and Ntchisi and we will continue to visit other hospitals,” he said.
Kadango urged fellow private sector members to come in and assist in uplifting the lives of the communities.
