New Cardiff City signee Emiliano Sala on missing plane

There is a somber mood at the Premier League Club as Cardiff City’s £15m Argentine striker is reportedly missing after boarding a plane which lost contact off Alderney in the Channel Islands on Monday night.

The striker was a record signing from French club Nantes to help bolster the clubs attacking options.

Horacio Sala, the footballers striker described that the family was feeling desperate.

“I didn’t know anything. I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I’m desperate. I hope everything goes well.”

According to reports from the BBC, a spokesman for the French Civil Aviation Authority said the Piper PA 46 Malibu aircraft was French but had not been registered in France.

“We can confirm Emiliano Sala was on board,” he said.

“This morning, the French research started with one French national navy ship and one aircraft. The investigation will determined which authority will take the lead on the research.”

Born in Santa Fe Province, Argentina, Sala began playing football for San Martín de Progreso until he was 15 years old. On 19 January 2019, Sala joined Cardiff City on three and a half year deal for a club record transfer fee of £15 million. The transfer beat the previous club record of £11 million paid for Gary Medel in 2013
