Two unidentified men robbed FDH Bank in Mzuzu on Saturday morning, fleeing with over K109,000,000 in cash.
The two men threatened employees with a pistol before tying them up and fleeing the crime scene in a Honda Freed, with registration number BZ 4259.
Police have since detained some employees as investigations are underway to arrest those involved in the bank heist.
Maurice Chapola, the Northern Region Police spokesperson confirmed the incident saying the police are conducting thorough investigations to arrest the culprits.
