A 31-year old man last week is reported to have drowned in North Rukuru River in Karonga. Karonga Police Station spokesperson Enock Livason said Nsaneni Mwinuka on December 21 went on a social outing on the other side of the North Rukuru River. “He did not return to his house on that day. In the morning of December 22, he was found dead in the river.” A post-mortem conducted at Karonga District Hospital showed that death was due to suffocation. Mwinuka came from Chawinga Village, Traditional Authority Kilupula in the district.
