Will SKC finally announce his running mate?
UTM President and the Vice President of the Republic of Malawi Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima is set to have a press briefing today at the Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe starting from 9:30am.
Speculation is rife that Chilima will use the opportunity to unveil who his running mate will be in the upcoming 21 May 2019 Tripartite elections. Sources close to the UTM leader have also hinted that Chilima is set to speak out on the rampant political violence that the governing DPP cadets have unleashed on citizens holding a different political view from them.
Chilima who just came back from a visit to the United States has been a fierce critic of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika ever since he broke ranks in June 2018. He has promised to bring the mass looting of government resources to a halt once elected into office.
The press briefing will be broadcast live on radio and television.
