Police in Neno have arrested a 52 year old pastor, Juwao Antoniyo for allegedly being suspected of defiling a 16 year old girl who comes from Galeta Village, Traditional Authority Mlauli in the district. Neno Police Public Relations Officer, Raphael Kaliati said the victim together with her sister went to a maize mill and on their way back, the sister decided to visit a friend who was sick leaving the victim to proceed home alone.
On the way home, she felt thirsty and stopped at the suspects house to ask for water to drink. “Whilst there, the suspect told her to go into the house to drink the water and when she went in the house, Antoniyo followed her and defiled her,” said Kaliati.
The victim reported the matter to her mother who later tipped the police at Ligowe Police Unit. Antoniyo comes from Siyali Village, T/A Chapananga in Chikwawa. He will appear in court ton answer the charges laid against him.
