Victor Madhlopa, Chairman of Silver Strikers Football club has filed a complaint with the Malawi Police Service (MPS) after one of the club’s star prospects was kidnapped at night by alleged supporters of a rival team while in training camp.
According to Madhlopa, Chikondi Kamanga, Malawi Under-20 star midfielder, who was recently on loan at Ntopwa FC from Befoward Wanderers F.C was kidnapped on Saturday night from the clubs hostels right after a friendly trial game with Sable Farming F.C.
The issue of contention appears to have come about after Kamanga impressed Silver’s coach Dan Kabwe, who immediately offered him a lucrative contract. At this point it is not known whether Kamanga is a free agent or still a Wanderers, or Ntopwa F.C player.
