The Lilongwe First Grade Magstritate’s Court has acquitted Mario Rosha, 42, and Kharid Karim, 48, who were suspected of stealing K86 million worth of Soya Beans belonging to Export Trading Group (ETG). The two were arrested on June 12, 2016 following a complaint from ETG that they had been collecting Soya beans from the company’s Central Region branches, which they later sold to the same company at K86 million. The lawyer representing the two, Lugano Mwabutwa applied to the court to acquit the two for no offence after State witnesses contradicted each other in their testimonies before the court.
