Arsenal FC have completed the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Emiliano François Aubameyang from German Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund.
The transfer deadline day deal has reportedly cost Arsenal in the region of £60m which may also involve Olivier Giroud moving to London rivals Chelsea. Aubameyang’s transfer is a club record for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal which has been known to be very thrifty on the transfer market.
The 28-year old Gabon International will help bolster Arsenal’s attacking options after the departure of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United and Theo Walcott to Everton.
Aubameyang’s move to the Gunners was dependent on Dortmund finding a replacement in Chelsea’s striker Michy Bathuayi which then allow Giroud to move to Stamford Bridge.
Before joining Borussia Dortmund, Aubameyang who is known for his speed played for Milan, Dijon, Lille, Monaco and then Saint-Étienne.
